I use a sunscreen to protect me from getting sunburned and a liquid foundation to cover up the ruddiness. However, when I tried to use powder to set my make-up, it would settle into my pores and make me look ashy and “drag-queeny.”

The product does what it is supposed to do. Just make sure you spray it 12″ to 16″ away from your face. Any closer and you wind up with sticky spots. Also use only 1 to 3 sprays to set your make-up. Anything more than that and again, you’ll wind up with a sticky feeling. I mist it on my face after I put on my eyeliner and mascara. It helps prevent me from getting raccoon eyes.

After years of good skin as a teen and young adult, I developed acne at the age of 28. For the last 7 years, I’ve tried all sorts of products, both OTC and prescription, and none have worked completely. I have very dry skin, and many of the products dry my skin out very badly and make the problem worse!

I got AcneFree Redness Relief about 1 month ago. I waited a month to write a review because sometimes something will seem to make things better for a week or two and then it gets worse. I have used this for about a month now and I am still seeing great results. My skin gets a LITTLE dry with this kit, but nothing a good moisturizer doesn’t help.

The kit contains a cleanser, a toner, and a benzoyl peroxide 3% cream.

The cleanser is a sulpher-based cleanser with tea tree oil and I think it is the key to success with this kit. It is a little gritty (exfoliates) and it doesn’t foam. It also has a faint smell of sulpher. I don’t think the smell is bad, but I did read some reviews to that effect. Maybe the other reviewers were used to artificially fragranced products (which break me out faster than anything), but the sulpher smell was barely noticable to me.

The toner is a gel based toner (which was a little different for me). It is soothing and has very little smell. I don’t always use this in a hurry, but it is very calming as it’s stated purpose is to help reduce redness. It seems to help with this.

The last product is the benzoyl peroxide lotion. I hesitated with this because benzoyl peroxide dries my skin out so badly. This wasn’t AS bad as other products I’ve used. I used it every day, twice a day, when I first started using the products and it did dry out my skin. Once all the blemishes were healing, I went down to using it only at night. Now that I have no more blemishes, I only use it as a spot treatment if I feel like I might have a spot coming up. Funny thing is, I have only had one tiny little bump to use it on in the last 2 weeks!

I have modified my routine a little bit since I first started using the products. I now wash my face with Suki Lemongrass Sugar cleanser in the mornings to exfoliate (it is all natural and food grade). Then I follow with the AcneFree toner and if needed the spot treatment. In the evening I use the AcneFree cleanser, follow with the toner and use Suki Carrot Serum for a moisturizer.

This is the first routine that has been successful in the last 7 years. Hope it helps someone else as well as it has for me!

I am a very white skill male who had some light brown spots in the face big enough to bother. Seems to be developed because of the effects of the sun. This came up on Amazon as recommended for me and I decided to try it.

I put this product on under my makeup and my makeup stays in place the entire day. There is no shine that seeps through even though I work 8 hours per day in an office. When I get home, there is no oil on my skin so it really does what it says that it will do.

I have been using Smashbox Photo Finish for an under makeup primer but it is very expensive ($35.00 at Sephora) and there is not much in the bottle. Also the Avon MagiX has an SPF 20 in it which the Smashbox does not. So for the money, Avon MagiX at $8.00 is quite the better buy.

Also my skin looks poreless with the Avon product. My skin looks poreless with the Smashbox as well, but again the price is so much more than the Avon product.

I highly recommend Avon MagiX if you want a flawless finish and if you want your makeup to last the day.

Let me tell you. I’m a budget queen, especially in this recession. I’m all for loyalty, but a product’s got to be GREAT for me to stick with it and buy it repeatedly. This is it.

I am 41, have combination/oily skin which becomes an oil slick in the summer. Finally a SMART primer. Even though I am African-American, I’ve been wearing sunscreen daily in my moisturizer since my early 20s and having it “sneaked” into my primer is an added bonus for the days when all I need is a slick of lip gloss and a non-shiny complexion.

It stays put, doesn’t give me an overly unnatural super-matte finish and controls shine beautifully. I’ve got to give Avon a hi five on this one; I have a feeling other primers will be following suit shortly and combining theirs with SPF protection, too. It should be the norm. Smart product that works well! Stock up, girls – stock up!

Only thing I wish is that it were in a 2 oz. or even a 4 oz. tube. With all the talk about going green and being responsible at least give us the option to buy more at a time without using all the extra plastic.

An application of Foundation Primer first will naturally extend the wear of Tinted Moisturizer especially for oilier skins or all skins in warmer/humid months. If you prefer a soft/slightly moist finish, set the Tint with a small amount of Translucent Loose Powder by lightly tapping with the side of the Powder Brush. For a more matte finish, set Tinted Moisturizer with Translucent Loose Powder or Pressed Setting Powder (which provides more coverage than loose) using the Laura’s wonderful and machine washable Powder Puff.

*While being SPF 20 (refers to UVB only), the active ingredients Laura uses in her Tinted Moisturizers do provide a small amount of UVA protection yet are not completely broad spectrum. All of Laura’s daytime Moisturizers provide SPF 15 in the form of avobenzone (listed under the chemical name) which is fully UVB and UVA protective. As a professional, freelance makeup artist, this is my preferred route. UVA/UVB sunscreen in a foundation makes it much thicker and can give the color a slightly `off `or `whitish cast. UVA/UVB sunscreen also reflects light and this shows up in pictures as `ghost face’ — a horror for brides when they get their pictures back. Having sunscreen in your moisturizer won’t have this same effect because you top it with foundation or powder which keeps the reflection at bay.
